Blockchain Technology A blockchain is a type of database. A blockchain is a technology that collects data in groups called blocks, each of which contains a set of data. When a block is filled, it is chained onto the previous block, forming a data chain known as a "blockchain" . All new information added after that newly added block is compiled into a new block, which is then added to the chain once it is filled. The data on a blockchain is organised into chunks (blocks) that are linked together. As a result, all blockchains become databases.
